1) Conventionally, Madrid consists of two zones – explore both of them to get a feel for the city | Conventionally, Madrid is divided into two tourist zones – the old traditional centre (the Puerta del Sol square and Gran Vía street, as well as the surrounding areas of the 17th century) and the new quarters (the cosmopolitan Castellana, the bohemian Chamartín, and the austere Salamanca districts).
