What’s the difference between Disruption Protection and travel insurance?

Disruption Protection is a unique service we offer to protect you in case of significant schedule changes or cancellations caused by the carrier — it doesn’t apply when you can’t travel for another reason.

Depending on the type of Disruption Protection you have, we'll either book you an alternative trip, send you instant Kiwi.com Credit, or apply for a refund from the carrier on your behalf. 

Travel insurance usually reimburses your expenses connected to health issues while traveling or cancellations due to illness, accidents, or death. It can also cover lost baggage or liability for damage. It usually doesn't offer compensation for missed connections or schedule changes.
