Italy is sometimes referred to as the gem of Europe among travelers for its pristine beaches, food that's to die for, and exciting tourist attractions, including the famous Colosseum. This Mediterranean beauty is that gift that keeps on giving with picturesque coastal towns on the Amalfi Coast, unique cities like Venice, and jaw-dropping mountain ranges like the Dolomites; one trip there is nowhere near enough time, but it will give you a taste of what the country has to offer.

When Is The Best Time To Visit Italy?

You can travel to Italy at any time of the year, and it will remain impressive, but some seasons are more favorable than others.

If you decide to book your trip to Italy in the summer months, June to August, expect incredibly high temperatures, especially in the south of the country, and high prices. Since Italy is so popular and most Europeans get their holidays during these months, they holiday there, which makes it much more expensive as property owners and airlines bump their prices up.

For a cheap getaway, Italy is the place to go in the winter months, December to February. It's a far more affordable time to visit Italy. The weather may not be as great as in summer, but the crowds won't be near as big, and low-cost deals aren't hard to come by.

The off-season is a budget-friendly time to visit Italy; these are two separate periods of the year, March to May and September to November. You've more of a chance of getting nice weather then, the main points of interest aren't as busy, and accommodation prices still haven't reached summer prices. It's a win-win.
