Honolulu travel tips
The highest waves come to Sunset Beach. The beach itself is very long, and in its middle part is a famous place with the highest waves – Banzai Pipeline. However, if your relationship with surfing is just beginning, it is better to go to Waikiki Beach. Kite surfers prefer the eastern part of the island – Kailua Beach.
Kapi'olani Regional Park is the oldest public park of 120 hectares. It divides the residential areas of Waikiki and Diamond Head. On its territory, there is the beach park of Kapi'olani, the Waikiki Aquarium and Honolulu Zoo, tennis courts, football fields, basketball and other rolling games, archery sites, and much more.
There is a lighthouse in Honolulu Bay, it is also an observation and clock tower. The height of the structure is 56.1 m, the lighthouse has 10 floors and a flagpole 12 m high. There are four bronze dials on the tower. A siren is triggered on the tower – it welcomes arriving ships and warns of a tsunami. The tower is built in a traditional Hawaiian style and has a wonderful view from its observation deck.
